Full bio
For more than two decades, Dr. Leola Anifowoshe-Brown has dedicated her career to helping people understand one of the most emotionally devastating conditions a person can experience — hair loss.
As founder of Texas Hair Restoration & Wellness Center, creator of Investigative Trichology®, and nationally recognized as The Hair Loss Detective™, she has evaluated thousands of individuals searching for answers after years of frustration, misdiagnosis and unanswered questions.
Throughout her career she noticed a troubling pattern: many hair loss conditions disproportionately affecting Black women — including Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) and traction alopecia — received little public awareness, limited education and insufficient research funding, while patients across Hispanic, Asian, White, Indigenous and multicultural communities struggled to find reliable information and compassionate support.
That realization became the inspiration for the National Alopecia Foundation for People of Color, which advances hair health equity through education, awareness, advocacy, research and community support.
